1872

Have to say I’m struggling to summon up much enthusiasm about this game. 2 teams not playing well and a few injuries around.

Not sure the injury status of many of our players, Taylor onviously out and Gilco

The team pretty much picks itself, only real decisions are second and back row. Hodgson and Davidson have both done well so not much between them to partner Toolis. Back row is harder, Big Bill off the boil a bit so would have him on the bench, harsh on Bradbury and Crosbie but I think our most balanced back row is Haining, Watson and Ritchie, but again if you picked the other 3 it would still be handy

Pyrgos needs to get his mojo back quickly, if he doesn’t play well we don’t seem to function. Would like to see Chanberlain get a good 20mins.

It is a strong starting xv.

I think Miller has been our best 8 this season would like to see him given a run off the back of a full strength pack.

League season is a bit of a non event really, but still look forward to the game even Premier sports pro14 coverage is better than the Xmas TV pish.

Edinburgh by 8, with Ritchie and Wilson to have a shoving match within first 5mins

Feels odd to say that their front 5 look stronger and our backs look a street ahead of theirs.

Our bench looks stronger which may well be crucial.

Streets ahead? Price, Johnson and Grigg get in this team no questions asked. It's pretty marginal.

I worry about their pack but as you say I think our bench will see us home.

We’ll see how it goes but for my money a composite pack only has Zander and Cummings in it from the Weedge. Big Richie is an unknown quantity at this stage and though Bill has been a wee bit below par he has the highest ceiling of any forward playing today.
Just pleae dog can we give our back three some ball and half a yard for once

Our attack and decision making in the 22 is SteveWalsh.

Having said that should have been a yellow for Glasgow. Multiple pens on own line

Wilson could have been carded at least twice

So our big strike move on the last play is to truck it up and then boot it out!

Might as well play Bradbury and Crosbie on the wings, we only want them to tackle.

Good grief, Townsend will be heading for the Valium watching this. No points in 40 mins of error strewn play. The brave move would be to swap Pyrgos out at half time. He’s having a bad one at the office!

Odds on an improvement 2nd half? As has already been said on this thread, it’s hard to generate much enthusiasm for this. The season is just off.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

As scoreless halves go, I thought that was pretty entertaining...

Christ, that was a brutal 40 to watch! Hard to say what was yhe most inept - Edinburgh's attacking play or Grove White's refereeing, he us apparently totally unaware of the concept of advantage!
