That is mad. If we still had crowds we'd be advised to take our boots along as must be just about nobody else we can pick.

I suspect we might struggle a bit in the set piece.

Jeez - well at least the younger players are getting a run out.

You would expect Glasgow to beat Benetton with their depleted squad but could be close for them not getting into Champs Cup either if we lose to Dragons.

Both would probably would have had a few of the fringe 6N squad available for these matches had the French game gone ahead as planned but instead Scotland is weakened and could cost us £m in 6N prize money as are ER and GW which could cost GW champs Cup next season all because some LawrenceBryce MariusJonker wanted waffles

EDIT: TOL reporting Shiel and Taylor carrying knocks and not fit enough to start but are on bench

Even if Shiel was fit I think it would always be best for Pyrgos to start behind that pack. Same with Savala/Chamberlain and Van Der Walt.

Behind an understrength pack to that degree it helps the pack to have experienced 9 and 10 in the team and takes pressure off the young 9/10's who might have started.

27 must easily be a record for player unavailability, don't think I've ever seen more than about 22! how many injuries did we collect on Monday night?
Add in having travel (again) to Wales having presumably only returned from there only on Tuesday this is getting ridiculous given I think its fourth time of asking for this fixture. The guys need a rest!

This could get messy i think.

our front 5 is very underpowered and after we empty the bench it wont be getting better. I thought we could have left a space and brought Berghan in as he probably wont be playing tonight, so time to get him back for Sunday?

It is nuts to be without 27 players.

Looking forward to seeing Conor Boyle and Matt Currie

Does it seem like the injuries are worse this season than others? More players out for very long periods of time than normal,in addition to the regular short term injuries.
Wonder if it's the disrupted pre-season, or treating this season as a write-off they're being more relaxed about getting the recovery right

I think from 6-15 the side looks fine. Big hefty and mobile backrow and a good backline condering the absentees.

The tight 5 doesn't look poor as such but it's brutally inexperienced at this level. And the same goes for the bench really.

The Dragons looked strong up front against Glasgow so will fancy themselves to overpower us I think.

Cometh the hour as they say . Some young men with a chance to prove a point so excellent ingredients for the motivational mix. Looks like a back line getting sharpened for Racing after what appears to have been rest and rotation . Sorry to see Hoyland injured as he was excellent last week . Expect Taylor snd Dean to compete for 12 spot and/ or bench next week.

|With Sutherland now injured (as well as Schoemann) big game for Macallum at loosehead.Important that he can slot back in well to his old position with a view to fronting up to the Racing scrum next week. (and looks like bergham was injured as well on Friday night but at least we have Nel and Atalifo at tighthead.)
