Blair Kinghorn re-signs "for the foreseeable future".

Great news, he's been very good again this season

So was the extension in January just a one year deal? Or is this an early extension with terms changed?

His instagram post suggests “the foreseeable future” is two years!

Saw tweet from journo Rob Robertson that Mata has had surgery and may not play again this season.

Hope recovery goes well.

Callum McRae at @EdinburghRugby has not only crafted one of the best defences in European rugby this year. They are the only team in the 43 in the main European leagues to have fewer than half (49%) their total penalties come in defence. Next lowest is Stade with 55%.

Amazing stat from Twitter

Fraser Renwick Southern knights hooker joins on short term deal and into Euro squad. Announcement says to cover Rambo who is injured. Anyone know if Patrick Harrison back with us and assume nothing came of Cherry/Botham incident?

George Taylor had to retire due to concussions. Very sad.

I believe he owns and runs UpNorth Biltong so I put in an order.

That's awful, that's Taylor at 25 and Carmichael at 26.

It's the right decision, and I wish him the very best for the future.

There must be something that can be done to prevent these head injuries.

jeez that is terrible.

His brother retired as well due to head knocks from whatever level he played.

From article it sounds like he has been looked after by SRU which is encouraging and has a job in family firm.

Wish him all the best.

Very sad-at one stage he looked a potential cap.
i wonder what part that awful incident at Scarlets by their second row had to play in all this.
Best wishes to Gt for the future.

Very sad news about George Taylor and must have been a very difficult decision. I am sure he has been given the appropriate medical advice and looks like the best decision for his long term health. As previously mentioned the Scarlet's assassin attack will probably have played a role in this and I hope that the other player involved is reflecting deeply on his actions of that day.

Wish the very best to Taylor for the future

This is very sad, he was a fine player and a future Scotland cap. That tackle by the Scarlets player wasn't a tackle, it was basically an assault and must have been a major contributory factor? Didn't he have fractured eye socket, jaw and something else?
