Caught the highlights looks like Currie has added quite a few kgs without losing any of his pace, hope he gets decent game time at ER this season, proper talent.

Yes, once he's match fit I would hope he is ahead of JJ for a slot in the 23.

Watched as suggested .Currie Looked good but it was a somewhat weakened Ayr team so hard to judge but definitely an exciting prospect for the future and the best so far of our younger group as I have yet to see Blain or Savala offer anything beyond the ordinary.

Patrick Harrison off to Wasps on a "short term deal"

Not listed as a loan, good for him but would be a shame if we have lost him, looks a decent prospect.

Wasps have 2 very very good young hookers. Ohgre and Barbeary. Always in or around match day squads
The latter is a 21 yo bulldozer quick enough and big enough to play no8 (and has), a bit of a freak TBH. The former is 23 was in Jones squad a few weeks back, again a terrific player.
Barbeary has a long term injury, Ohgre got more game time due to Barbeary's injury, but is now on a 3 week suspension

Looks very much like short term cover for Wasps

Think they have a bit of an injury crisis at the moment, and one of their hookers just got a 3(?) match ban, so might be a very short loan just to cover this period. Fantastic opportunity for him to get some more game time, he could be a massive player for us and Scotland soon given the ages of our current hookers.

Given there is a four week break in the URC or the Autumn Tests starting after next weekend he might not miss much up here anyway. If it is say a two month deal he'd be back by mid December. Great opportunity for him.

I agree. It was disappointing he didn't get in the Melrose team. Super 6 teams academy players should be allocated on need as Melrose have two of the best hookers in the comp.

Ben Muncaster and Jordan Venter were great for Sonians yesterday. Hopefully they're allowed to play rugby between now and next super6!

Mallinder mentioned after the Super 6 final that both Edinburgh and Glasgow are looking at Tom Jordan.

I thought he was already training with Glasgow, or had been?

It'll be interesting to see which players from this season of Super 6 make it onto the pro teams' books. Think there is a few candidates for Scotland 7s when that gets going again as well.

Have enjoyed catching some of the Super 6 and would cautiously endorse it as a step in the right direction subject to the realities of club economics. The signing of a of Bofelli is of course exciting but who does he displace ? Taking Saturday’s backline it would have been Hoyland , Immelmann , Bennett or JJ and or Currie off the bench ! We have to be careful we don't overstock and block opportunities for other good players and emerging native talent.
