Can't see much changing for this game Lang in for Dean if injury keeping him out, maybe Sykes to start.

Wonder if we want pyrgos game management at start as well bring Vellacott on later to up tempo.

McInally touch and go apparently, assume he would start if fit enough.

No argument with that-and agree re possibly start Sykes.
Dean injured? Perhaps you meant if,presumably, Lang now fully fit after his injury so more likely to start with Dean on the bench.

Charlie Shiel has been featuring in the training photos a fair bit so wonder if Vellacott is struggling, looked a sore one vs Glasgow.

Lang/Dean and Cherry/Rambo would be tight calls, Cherry and Dean have shown very good form. I actually really like the energy Mcburney brings to the last quarter but maybe a bit lightweight for SA?

I think I saw Shiel in a moon boot after the Glasgow game, so he was obviously nursing something then, hopefully he's fit now. Between the great start to his Edinburgh career Vellacot has had and Pyrgos hitting some real form, Sheil hasn't quite kicked on in the way I'd hoped he would under Blair.

There is still time of course, but it has to happen for him very soon.

Stats from OptaJonny re line out success :
"Edinburgh Rugby have the best lineout success rate of any team in the #URC this season (91%), with David Cherry registering the best lineout success rate (94%, 134/143) of any of the 34 hookers to attempt 50+ throws this season."

But they've clearly all been goo at this aspect.

Edit : or even "good" !

Glasgow getting embarrassed sadly. I'd settle for being competitive in this one. That Stormers front 5 looks formidable.

Well in it at HT should give confidence.

Good aggressive defence, pyrgos controlling well.

Have to start 2nd half well and survive the YC.

Been competitive so far. Far too casual from Kinghorn for their try and a soft yellow card, but otherwise right in it.

Dunno if you get the South African commentary in the UK, but their commentators have mentioned Crosbie and Bradbury fronting up in terms of physical carries.

Good effort, little errors in this game, and others, the difference.

Crosbie, Bennett and boffelli all superb.

A few loose passes hurt us but it was a big ask to go Stormers and win.

We never really got any rhythm or momentum going, mainly due to the Stormer's defence, well played them, they were the better side overall.

I feel we will be better next season as the systems and players bed in, we will welcome back Jamie Ritchie and Big Bill, plus Goosen will strengthen the back three.

Shiel needs game time, the zip in his pass is the best we have by a mile.
