Thats them announced now...

Relatively pointless as it isjust "weekend of" at the moment so doesnt allow much planning. I cant decide if going to south africa in week 2 & 3 is a good thing to catch them early, which worked for teams last year, or if its a bit og a nightmare as if we lose them we will be playing catch up all year? Need to get a good start vs Drags then get a ouple of home wins when we get back from SA.

It may have been better to get them first up then we could have gone out there early to acclimatise. It seems they arent playing in the first week though.

December looks like fun, Munster, Saracens the Castre in a row, thankfully couple of games against a diddy team to follow over Xmas!

Like you, I'm undecided about whether its a good point to catch the Saffers. Our SA trip last season didn't turn out too bad, but we should theoretically be at better strength than them. I'm more concerned about the Cardiff trip at the end of October, given Scotland are playing Australia outside the international window that weekend and Wales aren't playing. It's a potential momentum killer, albeit with a 3-week break afterwards.

And, of course, once again, we are playing one of the big Irish teams right in the middle of the 6Ns. At least its at home this time but, given its the week before we PLAY Ireland then I can't see us getting any of our internationals back. Hopefully the two away trips to Ireland that follow will not be key to qualifying for the play-offs!

South Africa are playing Argentina the weekend of our game with the Bulls, so they might be missing a few players. That's the final SA game but they might rest some SA players for the Stormers game the following week.
Presumably we'll be missing Boff also.

Early momentum would be nice but for me this year if we want to see progress we have got to be winning our home games (including munster & leinster) and start picking up away wins more regularly particularly over the mid table teams.

Skinner and Goosen are on paper excellent additions plus we have Mata back who missed most of last season and Ritchie who has played little for ER the last two both add so much to our squad I think we can look forward positively.

Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Good that the days and times have been confirmed for the upcoming URC season. A mixture of Friday night and Saturday afternoon/nights at the Dam. 1872 games on a Friday evening before Xmas/NY
