This Saturday Scotland and Edinburgh Rugby stars past and present are turning Stafford Street in the West End Village into “Mini Murrayfield” to give city centre shoppers a French-themed rugby lesson on the top-flight rugby heading to the capital city!
At the end of February (26th) a packed Murrayfield Stadium will watch Scotland take on France in the RBS 6 Nations, two months before Edinburgh Rugby host Top 14 giants Toulouse in the Heineken Cup quarter-final on Easter weekend (Saturday 7 April).
Staged between two giant inflatable rugby posts, the retail traffic will be challenged to a test of skill by a pair of the fans' favourite Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland internationalists as well as former club and country greats Gavin Hastings and Jim Calder, for the chance to win tickets to the quarter-final and have their picture taken with the Heineken Cup trophy!
In partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council’s ‘Open for Business’ initiative, those welcoming the arrival of the ‘auld alliance’ will be also be treated to French food stalls and free city centre parking. So get yourself in there!
The fun starts at 11am and runs to 2pm with the players on the scene from 12.30 to 1.30pm
