Board problems?

Postby biffer on Tue Jun 25, 2019 3:19 pm

Been very quiet (even more so than usual) lately on here, and Tichtheid has messaged me on the Glasgow board to say he's been unable to get on for days -

My browsers are all set to clear everything when I close them, just to prevent this sort of thing happening, I can't get on to the site via Edge, Chrome or Firefox, nor via safari from my phone or ipad, including on 3G from my phone.

I get a depleted text-only home page which goes to a blank screen or 403 error message when I click on "forum"
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

No problems that I'm aware of from here.

I’m getting on with my iPad from Mallorca without any issues.

I was having the problem Tichtheid describes a few days ago, but it only lasted a half day or so.

Biffer's laying on of hands seems to have worked.

I'm back, for good or ill.

For interest, is your phone provider the same as your broadband provider?

That makes explaining the fact that you had the same problem both on wired/wireless and also on 3G phone harder. There have been some problems over the last couple of weeks with the traffic from certain providers/bits of the internet "accidentally" being routed through places that they shouldn't have which have caused varying degrees of trouble. It may be that your phone operator is actually piggy-backing on a real underlying operator which could tie that explanation back in but we won't gain anything by spending time on it, I guess. Glad that you're back anyway.

I couldn't see anything except a skeleton menu page (ie looked as if it hadn't loaded properly) for 2-3 days. from different devices and locations.

Back now though from all of them. Who said nae luck, eh? :D
