Lol!! Yeah, another...err....'interesting' place in South Wales...though the Wetherspoons opened at 10am on the Monday which certainly eased the pain of getting gubbed by the Dragqueen's a couple of years ago... ;) I stayed in Newport and to be fair never saw any grief...and outta the 4 Welsh options in the RDP12, is actually the only one I'd choose to go back to!

I don't have to stay over there as I live in Bristol, but there's a wee pocket of 6 of us goin to shout! More than likely be the only 6 there but that's fine with us!

Plus this is the closest game of the season for me, even when I'm home in fife it takes longer to get to murrayfield!

And I grew up in Cowdenbeath, Newport's a doddle

I'll have none of the Ballingry talk here, I used to play football there with 'The Auld Shank' being our post match boozer, as i said, Newport is a doddle. plus if it does kick off, theres only 4,500 Newportians Vs 6 Fifers......Doddle

When you put it that way, we cannot lose.

I don't have the time to travel much these days, but Rodders was always one of my favourite away grounds along with The Sportsground in Galway. Lovely bunch of people. Have a great time.

May was well just use this thread.

i'm trying to get a few mates from Brizzol along to this one, i assume there's about the same level of interest for this as last time??

For what its worth, Rodeny Parade is probably my favourite away day (well, except Racing)

um wat is a murringer :? :? ?

my advice would be fly to bristol, flights are cheaper, its 10 pound return for the airport bus to the centre of town, and its around 12 notes to get to Newport from temple meads (main station in bris).

Trains from the south west to edinburgh are a joke, with no advance fair

also plenty travel lodge type affairs for cheeeep accomodation.

however if you are under 25 you can get a railcard and knock 1/3 off the price so it pays for itself within that trip.

obviously i travel to edinburgh a lot so happy to help if i can

Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.
