Agent or Bordeaux?

Postby Pitfitter446 on Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:04 pm

Determined to do one of these, Bordeaux so far looks easier for flights, anyone done it before, or planning to this year?

I am planning to do Bordeaux if I can co-ordinate with my son who lives in Wales.

I have never been before.

After a deal of research, I am going to Bordeaux via Bristol. There are no direct flights from Edinburgh, and I have a son studying in Cardiff (also an Edinburgh season ticket holder). Edinburgh Bristol return is currently £45, Bristol Bordeaux return is £40. The only issue is the return flight gets into Bristol late Monday (the only flights are Friday and Monday), but at that time of year a Premier is £30 then back Tuesday.

It looked to me as if the Bordeaux ticket site only had tickets for the next two matches. A French chum phoned and checked for me and apparently that is the norm for Bordeaux.

Edinburgh Rugby have informed us that they have found it impossible to procure tickets through the normal club to club channels. They are aware that the Agen website has now commenced ticket sales for our match and all supporters wishing to purchase tickets should use the following link to access the sales page.

Decided to go for Bordeaux, and got really cheap flights from Edinburgh to Toulouse with Ryanair (hand baggage only, cheap seats, £89) for Thursday to Sunday. It'll be an early train on Sunday morning, though. Ah well...
