Prediction League 2009/10

Postby Derrick Lee's #1 Fan on Fri Aug 07, 2009 1:31 pm

It's getting to the time of year again when we start casting around to see if anybody can spare the time to run the prediction league.

SuperBru have recently launched a UK sister site called SportGuru, which will be running prediction leagues for the ML, HC, Autumn Tests and 6N this season. I'm wondering if we could avoid taking up anybody's time in particular by setting up our own private league on there. I'm playing in a few leagues on SuperBru at the moment and it seems a pretty slick site - you just make your predictions and after each game the game engine processes the result and automatically calculates everybody's scores. Once everything is set up, nobody has to do any extra work!

What does everyone think? :)

Looks good to me (and not because I don't want to do it again this year !!). It looks very professional.

According to Sportguru The Blues and Edinburgh Rugby are playing at Wembley Stadium on friday - Will this influence your pick? Think we will just shade it down in Cardiff, they been even more off than us so far. :)
This year I'll do my picks with my head not my heart.

DL#1F,
Can you include muzwat in this. I normally use a different username when on prediction leagues etc. Actually have been trying to change my username here but am very unpc orientated.

Thanks :P

Was very disappointed in the performance of Ulster. Hey ho can only bode well for the HC, ceratainly didn't see anything that would cause us trouble. If you feel otherwise please feel free to illuminate.

Possibly a bit short notice, but we're still waiting for predictions from cageybee, Dunc and current leader The Gunner.

Standings after week 3:

1 Danish Cookie 18.83
2 The Gunner 16.83
3 on looker 15.53
4 Hil 14.33
5 SuperMackie 14.17
6 muzwat 14.00
7 disco 14.00
8 Chris 13.83
9 Oldsalt 13.70
10 gunnersrules 13.70
11 Watty 13.03
12 100bc 13.00
13 Balerno Gunner 12.83
14 DL#1F 12.00
15 rugbydaft 12.00
16 Dazzla 11.00
17 Crichton Gunner 10.87
18 Dunc 10.83
19 cageybee 10.00
20 legless 10.00
21 Lima 9.50
22 djphilp 9.00

Danish Cookie takes the yellow cap and a two-point lead at the top after outscoring the next best player (on looker) by 2.5 pts. At the other end of the spectrum, Dunc got a default pick on the Connacht-Cardiff game, getting a solitary point thanks to Connacht's shock win. He has now used up all his default picks - you only get a maximum of six and he used up the other five last week.

4 gunnersrules 18.70
5 100bc 18.33
6 Hil 17.83
7 disco 17.50
8 Chris 17.17
9 SuperMackie 17.17
10 Watty 17.03
11 Oldsalt 16.70
12 muzwat 16.50
13 DL#1F 15.50
14 rugbydaft 15.50
15 Crichton Gunner 15.37
16 Balerno Gunner 14.83
17 Lima 13.00

19 djphilp 12.50
20 Dazzla 11.00
21 cageybee 10.00
22 Dunc 9.83

Another yellow cap for The Gunner who moves back into the lead, taking advantage of a poor round from last week's top performer Danish Cookie, who drops to third. Dazzla, Dunc and cageybee occupy the bottom three positions after failing to make any picks.
