It wasn't pretty, and I'd agree we kicked away too much possession (and kicked poorly most of the time). Our games against Munster always seem to end up grim affairs, but for a change we came out on the winning side, and deservedly so. It's no surprise that their fans are bemoaning the 2nd half, as we dominated them and at no point did they look like scoring a try (I can't really remember them being in our 22). We scored 2 tries, both excellent finishing from VdM, had 2 disallowed, and dominated possession, even when down a man. A very good example of "winning ugly", I'd say.
It was a great effort from our forwards. Munster scrap for everything, and if you don't do the same they will win. Last night we did, and won an impressive number of turnovers. Scrum, lineout and maul defence were very solid, and our defensive system worked well to stifle them (tackling was good too). I know it wasn't a great spectacle for the neutral, but there was a lot of very good things in it from our perspective. We don't beat Munster often, and last night we did, reasonably comfortably. Kudos to the players and coaches for that one, and on to Connacht next.
