Edinburgh Rugby Academy

After two tough weeks for Edinburgh Rugby's apprentice  professionals playing for Scotland under 20s, they are back in action for their clubs this weekend. A hugely deserved opportunity falls to Fraser McKenzie, Edinburgh Rugby's 18 year-old apprentice. Fraser has impressed all the Edinburgh coaches since joining the club and they hope that by allowing him this opportunity to be part of the squad to face Leinster that it will accelerate his development and allow him to experience Magners League Rugby.

Joining him in the squad will be Steven Lawrie who will start off the bench for Edinburgh in the hugely important Magners League game against Leinster.

On the club scene, Kyle Traynor and Murray Bringhurst will be available for Watsonians to play in the refreshing "Super Cup" competition against Melrose. Elsewhere in the same competition Scotland U20 captain Cameron Ferguson will play for Dundee as they welcome Scottish Premier One Champions Currie to Mayfield. Stewart's Melville will take the opportunity to utilise the skills of David McCall, when they have the difficult task of travelling down to Selkirk for their Premier Two game. Alan Dymock is being rested this weekend having been struggling to shake off a viral infection.
