Scotland head coach Frank Hadden today welcomed two changes to the Celtic League fixture schedule which will assist in preparations for the national team.

The match between Edinburgh Gunners and Glasgow Warriors, which was scheduled for Sunday 2 October, will NOW be played at Murrayfield on Friday 30 September with a 7.30pm kick-off.

And Border Reivers' meeting with Edinburgh Gunners will NOW take place at Netherdale on Friday 7 October, with a 7.30pm kick-off, instead of on Sunday 9 October.

The Celtic League Association have sanctioned both changes.

The switches have occurred to benefit the national team as many players involved in both games will also be involved in long-arranged two-day Scotland training camps which begin on Monday 3 and Monday 10 October in preparation for the Autumn Tests against Argentina, Samoa and New Zealand. Playing the games on the Friday night will allow players sufficient recovery time to enable them to take a full part in the national squad sessions.

Coaches of the three pro-teams have endorsed the move which has also been discussed with other stakeholders. Season ticket holders for all three pro-teams are being notified directly of the changes.

Frank Hadden said: "I spoke yesterday of the importance of everyone getting behind the national team and what better example could be cited than this decision by the pro-team coaches.

"I thank them for their support and believe it to be an indication of the level of co-operation which will be of benefit to the national team and our professional teams."
