Massive frustration at the naivity, terrible decision-making and lack of leadership.

If five points up with ten minutes to go, you have to kick three easy points when given the chance. Then you can think about the bonus point when the opposition are forced to chase the game and space opens up. When that penalty was given I watched Kinghorn animatedly telling Vellacott to go for the corner... whether that actually influenced the decision I don't know, but Gilchrist should have taken charge at that point.

Then with one of the late penalties to the corner, Healy actually pointed to the sticks, but the ref told him he couldn't because it had already been indicated we we kicking for touch! Unbelievable.

Ritchie made some great turnovers but completely blotted his copybook by giving away stupid late penalties and generally mouthing off to the ref all night. It's bad enough when he does that as captain for Scotland, but if you aren't even the skipper then it's a terrible course of action.

I feel bad criticising Goosen, who's had a good season thus far, but he appeared to have the proberbial dildos for hands last night.

Finally, I wish Kinghorn the very best with his move, but last night was him in microcosm... a couple of lovely tries, undermined by a dreadful mistake that ultimately lost us the game.

Sorry for an overwhelmingly negative and ranty post, but each aspect of it feels accurate.

Some silly errors cost us, should have taken more advantage of the extra man keeping the ball in hand instead of kicking away possession, but isn’t that the norm?

Truly disappointing but maybe not quite as embarrassing as that disgraceful performance v The Leinster Youth Team which the coaches no doubt looks at how they prepped and selected.
Blair Kinghorn had a fantastic match until he was left exposed by his mates in defence who didn’t have either have the pace or instinct to be supporting in numbers after Duhan spill . Hate to see him go as he is “Box Office” and heading into the prime of his career .We really need to get a result next Week v Ulster in Belfast to restore fortunes, confidence& & credibility . Hopefully Big Bill is back and midfield defence and attack do better

Just watched Glasgow v Ulster, we need a massive step up from yesterday or it will be a SteveWalsh few weeks ahead.

Ulster were poor. They started quickly, getting on the right side of the ref, but didn't have a cohesive attack after Glasgow started to pin them back. Edinburgh have the pack to dominate, more so than Glasgow.
The Ulster backs were fairly impotent although they were missing a dedicated 10.
Then again, Glasgow's starting scrum half was 4th choice 2 weeks ago.
Edinburgh should have nothing to fear even if Ulster are a very different prospect at
Ravenhill.

I like your optimism, agree edinburgh has a pack (and backline) to challenge any unfortunately too often we don't. This has parallels to last season when we started well but fell off a cliff performance wise from around the 1872 onwards. Hopefully Friday ends up being just a blip.

Will miss BK’s vision and gears .. really lacking from our midfield in 2Half after a very positive first half. Plan B missing when confronting opposition’s tactical shift .

Under the new coaching regime I feel this team has more grit than before. We have a backrow that is the envy of many, although Richie's mouth has the potential to give referees the hump.
