Utter humiliation.

We could play all day and not score.
Coaching or players demoralised?

Missed the match thankfully...some serious questions to be asked of squad and coaches.

:above: This...

Q1. Who wants & has correct attitude to play/coach?
Q2. Who should be FRO'd?

I'd rather have a team of grafters not grifters...

Cockerill installed work ethic and effort. Blair an exciting attacking edge. It really should have been a polishing job for everitt.

Reportedly the players were responsible for cockers getting the boot are they just not interested in making the effort, easier to lose and still get paid?

It won't happen but zero edinburgh players in the autumn squad may be a first kick in the KelvinDeaker they need.

Is it time to get laidlaw(s) back and give the time and support?

I expected the Lions to win, and I expected on a lovely highveld afternoon they would produce some good running rugby. TBF, they were excellent.

But the Edinburgh tackling and defensive systems . . . . . just a horror show.
I'll accept the backs had to be shuffled a bit, but Lions took most of the second half off, and frankly getting a bonus point would have been a complete injustice on that performance.

I'm afraid I have lost all confidence in Everitt already, and it looks like so have the players. He looks a bit like Solomons to me in his approach and so far is having the same miserable impact. We have a decent squad of players who can and should do better but they always look undercoached and underwhelming on the field. Watching the huge differences between us and Glasgow who played the night before is illuminating. Glasgow made 9 changes from their previous game and fielded a lot of youngsters in the pack but looked cohesive, played to a plan and knew how to get over the line. They also played with real determination and grit. Embra look awful and lacking in cohesion and any real ideas in both attack and defence.

I thought the SRU were too quick off the mark in offering Everitt an extended contract and I will be surprised if he makes it to Christmas to be honest. I would rather the SRU admit they AlainRolland up, took the hit and found someone else, Laidlaw, if he wants to come back, isnt a bad shout to be fair.

Agree that Everitt sounds more like Solomons every press brief...

Defence is questionable.
Attack the same.
Lineout has issues too.

An honest appraisal of players & staff is long overdue...

We've had years of M8 transits, 2nd/3rd rate imports & some poor local selections.

I understand that high quality players/coaches cost money, but we pay out for no results...

The usual excuses are threadbare at best. Time to get it together & improve...

Bringing in Greg & Roddy Grant (Defence/Contact) wouldn't be any worse than we have at the moment... &/or add FP & current Performance Manager & Forwards Coach at Valencia Romans Drôme Rugby (FR D2) Scott Newlands...

The real question would be, which if any of these might want the jobs were they to become available.

Watched recording . Looks like Edinburgh were caught cold and mentally not switched on . Reminded me of the Treviso debacle where they were caught out in Transition from their own unforced errors . The Hive energises them and seems to raise their tempo and emotional intensity . Let’s hope that proves to be the case v Stormers on Saturday and we get a winning momentum shift in gear . Another few defeats this side of November and the coaches will really have a credibility crisis.

I dont know what to think any more.

On the BBC podcast, Everitt did talk about dropping players if they didnt improve, well he has gone with a very similar starting 15 in the first 3 games, so changes are needed now. Maybe the likes of Crosbie an Boyle can give us more intensity and a harder edge.

Having said that, this has been coming, we have been poor in the backs since Everitt arrived (it was masked early on by Kinghorn playing really well) and we just dont seem to be able to sort it out. We have real weapons on the backs and we either cant or wont use them. Box kicking, its lik watching the Solomons era, plan A, box kick, plan B box kick again. It is a really important part of the game, but it feels like it is the main thought we have when we get the ball.

Lientser are leinster, but it was so clear when they go turnover ball, it looked really natural for them and they just went into a pattern of play and all knew what they were doing, if we get it we either kick it back or just throw it at each other in the hope someone makes a break. It has to be coaching.

It has been a really tough start to the season, not sure how much difference it would make, but we only played 1 pre-season game, so players came in with 40 mins rugby under their belt, and now we play like we are undercooked and unable to play with intensity.

I don't have a lot of faith in Everitt to sort it out, but players need to take responsibility too, we have a lot of experience in the squad and they need to step up. I think this is a hugely important season for us. Not just in terms of the league, but I do think that moving to Hive etc have held up enthusiasm from the crowd, another year of watching dross and I can really see a fall off in ticket sales. Im not going this Satruday, I have something else on, previoulsy I probably would have changed plans to be able to go, but i am struggling to summon that enthusiasm.
