I had totally forgotten that's Everit's contract runs out at the end of this season so he's only got a few months left.No need to "buy him out" (which SRU can't afford to do of course). But nothing to just call a halt and oput him on "gardening leave" and make an appointment within the current SRU employees at little extra cost whilst on the lookout for a new coach next season. Temporary coach couldn't do any worse and might even make the product watchable.
(Yesterday was an embarrassment as an advert for Scottish rugby. The whole "1872 Cup" thing is just a marketing exercise.Worked as it got 38k punters but not many of the daytrippers will ever come back on that showing.)

Not many of the regulars will come back on that showing, never mind the daytrippers.

I think the one off and day trippers will still come there were a lot of folk round about who were there for a social event that the rugby happened to be on was secondary.
Felt like a lot fewer Glasgow fans through for the match and vice versa less ER travelled to Hampden this year perhaps having the two "big" matches is dividing a fanbase it is a costly week at an already costly time of year.
I think the big danger for the ER/SRU is alienating the regulars/ST holders who are getting so LawrenceBryce off they are not going to show up to the Hive for matches either.
Everitt has only 5/6 months of his contract left the SRU are going to be paying it anyway whether it is all now to get rid or monthly. I just dont want to go and watch that SteveWalsh anymore it is not like the backs are playing behind a pack on the back foot, there is just no clear structure other than "kick it away" even off turnover ball.

The nadir was the play in the second half about 20 mins to go with a scrum-our ball-on the half way line about 30 yards infield..Darcy and a centre lined up to the right so perfect option to run two against two (a try would have put us 8-7 ahead). Won the scrum and Thomson off good service simply iopted to kick deep into Glasgow's 22,looking like he never even considered the obvious running option. All it did though was give the ball back to Glasgow to clear their lines.I can't believe any other pro team in Britain would have taken that option!
