So, team anyone? This is a fairly random piece of guesswork

Sutherland, McInally, McQuillan / Berghan?
One of the Toolii?, ?
Miller, ?, ?

Hart, Bezuidenhoit
Farndale, Tait, Atiga, McFarland
Howarth

Any suggestions?
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

McInally, Bezuidenhout, Farndale and Tait were all listed as injured at the weekend. I expect some young Premiership players to be getting phone calls.

Good, he really needs to start featuring or his move to hooker will have been a complete waste of everyone's time. McInally was a great Pro12 level 8 that was probably not going to make it at 8 internationally, Edinburgh have lost an 8 but if we (and Scotland) don't gain a 2 then what was the point?

He is VERY aware this is the last season of his contract and needs to make an impact

Given the difficulty in getting a 15 (let alone 23!) for Friday night I imagine that a lot of those pencilled in for this fixture will need to be held back simply to prevent further injury.Had it not been a Canadian travelling team sounds like the fixture might well have been cancelled?

If I wasn't banned I'd run them by the PR Canadians. Anyone going along to this able to report back?

Cheers Rob.

If any of the Canadians impress tonight (particularly if they're locks or back rows), I wonder if they could be persuaded to stay on in Scotland for a few weeks as injury cover ?

Even if we do use some or all of our EDPs over the next few weeks we could still be short on numbers in a few positions so it could help us out and would give some of them a bit of pro rugby experience.

It doesn't say much about the state of the state of the game in Scotland if we can't rustle up injury cover without resorting to players from Canadian provincial rugby.

Although saying that, I'm not sure who we will end up using. There's a massive gap between the club game and the pro game, which doesn't leave many options.

True, although as pointed out earlier in the thread, some of the Ontario Blues players are also Canadian internationals so are probably not rank amateurs and could be decent.

Agree it's probably not a goer or necessarily worth pursuing but suppose it depends how desperate we are !
