Form of all teams is all over the place with the exception of maybe Ulster. Edinburgh on more relaxed watch of the game were a bit off it energy wise and at times unlucky . Kinghorn not at his best but neither were those outside him . Lang in particular has to do more to justify his start and no doubt his wedge !

Lang looked excellent in the first quarter and was completely anonymous therafter. When Currie gets named in the team I feel excited but again he was ended up being withdrawn having made no impression whatsoever. Perhaps that is harsh on those two and they were not provided the ball to do anything with?

Once again Darcy was superb and it felt particularly cruel that he was turned over for the decisive penalty, having been the only one capable of getting there in the first place.

I have high hopes for Currie but he made 2 carries and missed all 3 of his tackles, so it wasn't the best of games for him.

Indeed. Our centres, apart from Bennett, have been a little disappointing so far this season-Dean not showing the big upfilt in his form in the latter third of last season,Lang showing a bit of last season's spark on occasion but not consistent and Currie not impressing in his one outing.hopefully just a blip but we need them on form if DVDM and Graham are going to get plenty of chances.

Dean was outstanding vs Dragons and BBC radio and some posts here had him as MOM. Don’t think he played next game in South Africa ? and has been a sub last few games. Agree on Bennet , more to come hopefully from Lang although I suspect Dean the more likely to release Duhan with his sharper distribution.

Without wanting to dwell too much on negatives I also felt a bit bad for Immelman, who made a few errors after being so solid and reliable to date. With Boffelli back in the fold and DVDM reappearing out of the blue he'll have been wanting to put in a good showing.

It also looked to be a costly evening in terms of injuries - here's hoping McInally, Watson and Graham are all okay. Rambo's in particular didn't look great.

Don't think the centres have had much space v the SA teams we struggled with the rush defences, quite often got man and ball.

Probably obvious but when the pack are getting over the gain line and the backs quicker service they look much more effective.

Need maybe more variation from 9/10 to get defences guessing and will be interesting to see where Goosen gets game time.
