Seeing reports Blackett has gone to Bath as attack coach. I thought he would have wanted a Head Coach job, but there you go.

Confirmed - BLACKETT TO JOIN THE BLUE, BLACK AND WHITE AS ASSISTANT COACH

Separately, today is the deadline for the Worcester preferred bidder to show the Administrators they can actually deliver something substantive.

Lots of rumours ( although possibly wishful thinking at this late stage ) that if the deadline is not met, a certain Mr S Diamond and his consortium are still prepared to ride to the rescue.

Edit - have just seen Douglas Struth's email re Diamond over seeing pre season "until at least August". Doesn't really strike me that Diamond is going to be long term. But who knows . . .

Does not sound like Diamond is likely long term both the above and his previous comments. Not sure who is in the running anymore everyone previously mentioned appears to have new roles (expect Diamond).

It is an RWC year though so normally a fair bit of turnover in coaching posts and if Diamond is covering "until at least August" = maybe it is someone who is free after the RWC.

Did a bit about head coaches that are currently world cup tied but may be options for us on my blog.

Clark Laidlaw is out he has got the Hurricanes job.

I think the Edinburgh/Glasgow job would be quite desirable more so in the current environment where they have the Union backing, budgets look to be competitive v England better than Wales for now, decent squads and facilities.

Think for a coach with aspirations to go on to International coaching it would be a good experience.

I think we need a Franco Smith style experienced coach but i would still like to see a younger ambitious coach given a shot. Maybe a bit too soon for Pete Horne not really sure who else as long as they are successful at ER!

Twitter ( EdinBru etc ) saying Mike Blair to Kobe Steelers as assistant to Dave Rennie. Good luck to him. Lived there for several years and it's a fantastic place ( if there aren't any earthquakes ! ).

Good for MB to get some wider experience surely? it would have been totally wrong at this stage for him to stay on in a different capacity-eg attack coach having been an unsuccessful (sorry Mike!) head coach.
Doesn't look like we'll have a head coach in place anytime soon but equally I suspect the announcement when it comes will catch everyone unawares.

Les Kiss and Marius Goosen are the main candidates according to Jamie Lyall. Both decent options.

Little snippet in today's Rugby Paper "On the Blind Side" column saying Edinburgh have spoken to Kiss, but that the players would prefer Steve Diamond to stay in charge. The wording carefully doesn't actually say Kiss is out of the picture.
Always have to take these things with a sizeable pinch of salt of course - OTBS is quite often right, but nowhere near on every occasion. It can also be a useful tool for agents.
"Player power" references always make me a bit uneasy - although I doubt Diamond would be a cushy route for the squad.

Sean Everitt confirmed as head coach per Edinburgh Twitter. Ex Sharks Head Coach, so brings some handy South African experience, though he left after they got beaten 0-35 at home by Cardiff last season.

Interesting appointment, experienced, good win record bit like smith at glasgow hopefully we get similar performance bounce. Although it is worded as "senior"coach rather than head coach wonder if there will be another senior position to come in as well to handle the contracts and other stuff Blair did not like.

Looks a decent appointment, and also Rob Chrystie is a good addition to the team.

Agree with other comments that the title is a bit odd. He has the pedigree of a head coach, but it does suggest that there is going to be someone else in that DOR role. Which I hope isnt Diamond.

I still would like Brad Moar involved somewhere, but that looks unlikely now.
