Aw Jeez. So so disappointing, Flat disjointed performance. Attack so huff and puff and box kick dominated without the players to play that game. . Everit inherited this coaching team . lTime to be more of his own man and get to really work on attack performance in pre season .

Well played Benetton. Clearly better and fully deserved the win and the play off place.
For Edinburgh, that was just embarrassing. On the web site it says Sean Everitt is "An outstanding attack and backline coach". I believe that to be an offence under the Trades Descriptions Act. I obviously accept that being without Graham, Bofelli ( how long will he now stay ? ) and Goosen doesn't help - but it's been the same nonsense nearly all season. No sign of coaching or a plan, and I know I'm repeating myself but the passing in the backs is awful. So when the pack has an off day, we got the spanking we fully deserved.

And it would have been even worse but for a simply bizarre decision by Whitehouse when he disallowed the try for a double movement.

The Chiel has said it all. The SRU extended Everit's contract without anything to justify that decision and here we are, 2 seasons where we fail to make the final 8 with what I'm guessing is the 2nd or 3rd most expensive squad in the league? Our attack has had no shape or structure all season and the coaching is just not good enough for the quality of the squad we have at Edinburgh. The squad refresh that you might think is needed has not happened and indeed most of the change are in the forwards. Any back that signs up to this squad has not watched us this season or is struggling for a contract renewal where they are currently. We need a quality backs / attack coach to get the best out of what is a superb squad. I'm getting a Deja Vu as I type this!

I think our speed away from the ruck is far too slow too much time spent getting pillars etc in place rather than playing head up rugby. Feels so rigid that all to often the opposition defence is set waiting then we just shovel the ball down the back line all of them under pressure so we kick it away a phase or two later. Based on the weekends error count the concern with playing at greater tempo is if our skill set is good enough.

One positive is we won 11 games, the fact we missed out on the playoffs mean we know we have to play more attacking rugby...lets hope the coaches realise this as well.

TFG has this right on the money, all around me I hear at games “play it, play it”, oppo defence set and we’re still getting players around the breakdown, then often its box kicked! 50% chance? of continuing the possession or played across the park where the ball player is flattened by the set defence line.
Did we win the games when the ball was scooped up and fed quickly so catching defenders out of position?
Can our ‘well paid’ talented coaches come up with a novel approach for next year, I don’t think I can do another “ah well, well be better next time” season.

yes, TFG is on the money. Slow ball, and that is why the box kicks. Something all teams do, its a 50% chance to regain (was better with Richie chasing, shame about Duhan). Dupont I believe kicks more than any 9. He would be slated by some at the Hive

My point was we are architects of a lot of our slow ball, the oppo don't have to do much to slow us, they don't need to attack the breakdown as we are not even looking to play quick ball they can just set in defence and wait for us to box kick or make an error.

Would love to see Dupont at the Hive, in an ER Jersey preferably  , or for Toulouse as that would mean we had made it back to the Champions Cup which is a little distant at present.
