Hoyland extends stay.

Would like to see him get a good injury free run.

Good to have him, a very good option in the back 3.

Do we know how long the contracts are for Boff and Mayano? Hopefully 2yrs. Boff in particular will be sought after by a lot of big clubs.

I think there is every danger that Boff will have a number of suitors this summer, particularly from France, regardless of contract status. His value will be higher this year than next due to the World Cup, given how much of the domestic season he would miss in 2023-2024.

If there was one thing I wish he would take out of his game is the slight "soccer" gesticulations when a decision goes against us. Now I know this is a bit of hypocrisy, given how much I moan about referees, but I have noticed there is a wee touch of dissent creeping in there. May be overanalysing it, but I have noticed it and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Confirmed by the club, the prop from Ampthill is Jamie Jack and he is joining early.

Interestingly, there is no mention of Grahamslaw leaving, quite the contrary:

With the injury to suffered to Boan (Venter) last month, we’re obviously a bit light up front, so it’s great that Jamie can come in and help push on the other young looseheads at the club in Harrison Courtney and Sam Grahamslaw.

Now, you can read that as being to "push on" Courtney and Grahamslaw for the rest of the season, but it would be a bit disingenuous if that was all it was.

They would normally say in the article if he was. It would be disappointing if it leads to a SQ loosehead not getting pro game time. However, IF Grahamslaw has already signed for Jersey, then it may be that it is bringing in someone who can immediately impact the squad as a replacement. Clearly, that is needed right now due to injuries anyway.

Yes I think you're right. There is a lot of talk of how strong his scrummaging is so I am hoping he settles in well and can contribute. It's not great for Scottish born and developed props though:

Schoeman - SA born SQ by residence
Venter - SA
Courtney - NZ born but I believe SQ
Jack - Eng and not known to be SQ
Grahamslaw - Eng born SQ

Hopefully in the imminent future Gamble at least comes into the equation on the other side and we have one Scots born prop on the books!

Wonder if Dunbar, Gunn or Nimmo were considered but to be fair the Super 6 has provided Courtney and though I haven't seen every game generally I've thought Grant Shiells the pick of the looseheads I've seen and he's past the stage where we'd have looked (again).

Good move for him if he is actually off there. Under Harvey Biljoen, Jersey have developed a number of forwards, including props ( Harry Williams of Exeter probably the best known ), who have been picked up by English Premiership teams. Nick Haining also on the list, of course.

Jersey Reds are splitting from their community club to get money in so will be looking to kick on. And Jersey's not the worst place in the world to live . . . .

A couple of years propping in the Championship is probably going to stand him in good stead at his age.

Isn't Big George Thornton already down there?

Anyone know how he's gotten on?

Bradbury, toolis, George Taylor, James Johnstone, Chamberlain, Grahamslaw, moyano

Disappointed we can't retain moyano, been a quality addition.

My thoughts exactly (the others were all already annnounced or not unexpected).
Moyano has been terrific and of course we won't see him again in the jersey as he's out injured.
Great pity, wish him well.Anyone know where he is going to? Does this mean we'll be making a new signing or ,given budgets, will it just be Academy promotions (Harry Paterson?)
(Thank goodness that means we have Boffelli for at least another year then!)

Jacob Henry is another possibility, as has done well with the 7s, though possibly some game time in the Super6 would be good for him as he’s had a tough time with injuries over the last wee while.

Disappointed to see Ramiro go as he’s been a quality acquisition but writing was on the wall when Damo signed a new contract.

Time as clearly up for Chamberlain as well, who just hasn’t made the breakthrough and has been surpassed by Savala.
