so, how often have you seen Atiga play?

So was it mine or yours?

Frillage and dj have put it nicely enough. Will you be requiring times, dates, names of anyone I was watching with or am i right in thinking that no answer I give will stop you going off on one? There's also what I'm told by people who's opinions I happen to trust, would you like written statements from them?

Journeyman is a very apt word to describe him, a solid, decent player but unspectacular and not deserving of higher honours.

he replied to your point with his first line the rest was carrying on his earlier post, no need to get upset!

jeez, a mind reader.
I've yet to see someone use journeyman in a complimentary way on a rugby forum, if you have, I'd be grateful for a link as I'm always happy to see new things.
anyway I'm not upset mate, I'm wondering where hp18 has seen enough of Atiga to make his decision.

Once again, every time you see journeyman written and you taking it as a negative has one thing in common, you.
I can reassure you, most people on here know what it means and it is an accurate description of Atiga, it would be an accurate description of Blackadder, even one of my favourites MM!
It is not a negative, every squad needs several journeymen, they also need genuine great players and some guys with potential to be a great for their country, like Scott, so the point stands, why paly a journeyman ahead of potentially our best 12 for almost a decade?

Relax mate, you come across as very chippy.

I agree with everything you said bar this call. To call a player who captained the AB's a journeyman is a stretch in my mind. Mustchin, Gissing, and Laney would be far better examples and all of them were excellent assets to our team. Atiga may prove to be one also, just not at the expense of Scott hopefully.

He did perform well enough however to get 45 super rugby caps, all barring one for the Blues between 2004-2008. He then took time out of the game before coming back to the sport in 2010.

Having watched him on numerous occasions for the Blues he has good skills and should be an attribute to our squad, but whilst he may turn out to be a good squad player, to move our (Scotland's and Edinburgh's) most promising 12 since John Leslie to accomodate him would be fool hardy.

DJ, well argued. At least you have seen him play - I'm assuming on TV - a fair bit. Not the same as live, pros and cons, but enough to form an opinion.

No need to go off on one. You've posted an opinion on a player, I want to know how much credibility to attach to that opinion.

Just tell us how often and when you've seen him. Quite simple.

Or if you were just posting "what I'm told by people who's opinions I happen to trust" rather than your own opinion, just say so.

All the other signings Bradley made this summer to mention a few.

Rees was rubbish today - not helped by the dross in front of him, but he took two steps with every pass - most of which tended to be above Laidlaw's empty head.

I am not in slightest bit smug - you didn't need to be Norman Mair to predict this.

Maybe the happy clappies might stop and think for a sec though.

Nothing to play for by the 13th of Oct.
