I haven't been to as many games as I would like, but I'm pretty sure Chamberlain hasn't played since the Edinburgh game. Info from Scottish on injuries etc is not so great this year.

As I currently seem to be unblacklisted, just to say that Chamberlain has started the last three games for Scottish, and has played - and particularly kicked - very well. He's playing in an underpowered team of course. Scottish are getting marginally more competitive, but still getting beaten. Scott Steele played on Saturday on his way back from injury.

I did see a LS try on Twitter and it looked like Chamberlain, great to see him playing well. I still think he has enough about him to do a job for us.

Good news on Steel too, with Darge and Watson injured this might be his big chance!

Jamie Lya is linking us with another saffer tighthead (Sharks).

If it means De Bruin and Atalifo are moving on and he and Mccallum come in then I could be ok with that. But we really can’t keep importing props and not developing our own. Angus Williams is at least SQ. it makes no sense for us to be providing no THs to Scotland and Glasgow losing 3 every time.

Assuming Nel will retire but never know, he seems to be doing alright.

Agree, how are they doing in S6? Conscious of what Gordon Reid said about s6 not really being the best way to develop young props. We need to find a way of doing that.

A lot will depend on what is happening with the props we already have . I have a feeling a lot are out of contract in the summer.

Tom Cruse has gone to Northampton. May be some background I'm not aware of, but I'm surprised at that. McInally ready to resume ?

To be fair, if he has the chance of a full time contract, I think it woudl be unfair to hold him back given the circumstances. He has done well for us though.

I just hope we dont fall foul of the euro regs that Bristol did!

I'm sure that there must be an exemption for front row players regarding that rule. If we had enough injuries that we couldn't have put two hookers in the 23 then surely we'd be allowed a short term signing filling in.

No brainer for Cruse to take up the offer of another few months employment if his short term deal with us was expiring. Hope he is able to do well down there and stays in the game.

Here's another one from Jersey v Scottish last Saturday :

Chamberlain had been subbed when Scottish had a kick to win, in front of the posts with time up . . . :( :( :(

How's Gamble been going down at LS? And talking of Championship tightheads seen anything of Mak Wilson at Doncaster or Adam Nicol at Jersey?

Think it only counts for other Euro games so all will be okay.

The Chiel kindly answered this via PM and here is the response:

The Chiel wrote:Hi JDCSR - I appear to be blacklisted again. I was trying to answer your question re Gamble etc. If you wanted to repost this on the Forum that would be helpful.

Gamble has been used off the bench a couple of times, but not in the last two weeks. I like him - he brings "great energy" as the current in-phrase of pundits has it. I did wonder if he's gone back north as with Cammy Scott. They were described as short term loans when they came.

Can't really comment on actual form for Wilson or Nicol. However afaik, from a distance :

Nicol has been playing regularly for Jersey, who were unbeaten till they went to Ealing just before Xmas, and then this year drew at Coventry with a last play of the game penalty try. He didn't play against Scottish last week ( and neither did Sam Grahamslaw, who is also still at Jersey - appreciate the question was about tight heads ). But Jersey always have very strong forwards, and Nicol wouldn't be in there if he wasn't playing well. As an aside, Biljon, the Jersey coach, got a mention in the potential Leicester runners and riders although I doubt he'll jump to that level in one go.

Wilson hasn't started for Donny for a few weeks now ( once off the bench about three weeks ago ). May of course have been injured. Donny, as the only other team besides Ealing who have put themselves forward for promotion, are having a poor season by their standards - 6 losses already, and I think are the lowest placed of the full time pro teams. So if Wilson is fit and hasn't been playing, that's not so good.

Thanks mate! Seems like positives on 2/3. I always recall Gamble getting off the bench a couple years ago under Cockerill and showing up ok for someone so young, he's had a couple injuries but hopefully will get a chance again.
