Dimitri Basilaia, who I remember as an abrasive backrower for us back in the day, is now the owner of a restaurant in Kiev and contributing to the defense of the city.

3 week ban. If that’s really a red the game is lost. :(

Sorry, don't see the controversy. Hand-off to the face, particularly at speed, has always been a red when penalised. When it has been penalised, of course.

Entry point for head contact is 6 weeks, so getting it down to 3 weeks for good disciplinary record and willingness to undergo the specialist coaching is good going.

If it had been a straight arm hand-off to the face which broke Lowe's nose and sent him head first to the ground it would have been perfectly legal.

I think that is the reason for the disagreement with that being worth a red and a ban, it was a clumsy attempt at a hand off during which minimum contact between face and the fleshy underside of the forearm occurred.

The tackler was going too high in the first place, there should be mitigation for that.

It also TonySpreadbury me off that this is penalised similarly to the punch in the face that Ritchie got v France, and a shoulder charge straight to Darge's head by a French lock flying into the ruck got completely ignored.

Yes yes, the letter of the law and all that, but it's not being applied consistently

Didn’t even think it was particularly clumsy tbh.

Rory Darge is simply outstanding. His strength for his size and his jackaling is world class. Reminds me a lot of Ross RennieI loved Cockers but he f ed up big time with that one.

C DuPreez had a decent shift for toulon v sarries.

Thought it was a good advert for Challenge Cup both ex HC champions and both proper going for it. The QFs were good level as well.

Nathan Chamberlain ( and Robbie McCullum ) to London Scottish. Didn't see that coming, but really hope he grabs the opportunity with both hands.

Great to see a couple more Scots pulling on the LS jersey.

Looked really sore but also, how hard is he? Obviously extremely painful but he held himself together.

Magnus Bradbury voted Bristol "Players Player of the Year". Some decent competition in that vote . . .

Sam Grahamslaw included in the Championship Team of the season, voted for by the 12 Head Coaches.

Good to see Grahamslaw getting recognition.

I do think our academy system and bottlekneck is an issue for front row in particular. It is very unusual for props to be mature in their early 20s but we have to make a decision by then to decide if they are staying or not. We also havent had a way of giving them meaningful games to help them mature and test the, hopefully S6 will do that now.

It is interesting to see the likes of Hislop and many others go and spend time in the championship learning their trade and then be really good players by mid-late 20s, which is really when most props are developed. I just cant see how we can do that with our current system. Its been well flogged but it is where sending players to the likes of London Scots for a couple of years could have huge benefits for all.

Much to my disappointment, Nathan Chamberlain has left Scottish to join fellow Championship team Hartpury.

Given Scottish's absolutely underwhelming pre season recruitment ( mainly from Richmond so far, although a Dutch international has been signed  ) it's probably a good move for him in terms of standards of rugby, and indeed money. Maybe even a link with Glaws, although I suspect his top level career is a ship that's sailed.

Another long season beckons unless the Quins link comes good again. And that nice Mayor Khan will charge me £12.50 each time I drive to the RAG !

Absolutely gutted for Rambo missing out on selection.

I actually think he has looked the best of the hookers in the squad. Ashman has unfortunatley been poor, Turner has been his usual mixed bag, Cherry has been very good, but I just think Rambo has a higher ceiling and just hits harder on both sides of the ball.

Im a bit surprised Crosbie has made it, he hasnt had many chances and has been fine withouth being outstanding.

Really interested to see how Healy goes, he could really grow in this tournament and I hope he can learn a lot from Finn and be a more rounded player. His basics and instincts are not under question, his ability to create and unlock defences possibly is. I think he has the basic tools, but just needs to develop that a bit more.

I too thought Rambo would go, but I do expect he will get a run out on Saturday as they look to manage the 33 as best a possible.

Edinburgh will benefit hugely from Healy I think going forward and this experience will be good for him.

Crosbie too will come back a better player for it as will Sebastian and Kinghorn, though where he fits into the Edinburgh structure on returning as a class 15??

Echo above rambo unlucky although hooker always gets blamed for missed lineouts when could be a number of other factors. He did look to be playing well though and his experience could be useful.

Crosbie to me had done enough, Bayliss was given opportunity but I don't think did anything outstanding and I think Crosbies aggressiveness will be good.

Think Kinghorn has looked sharp at 15 but agree where he fits at ER will be interesting although with injury/rest protocols can see our back 3 and 10 coping with regular rotation
