Re SHC-building up quite a short term cv Scarlets/Quins/Racing 92/Lyon.
All great clubs but surely the guy needs some stability especially as I recall he now has a young family so can't be easy all this relocating.Still feel he has a lot to offer and only 26.Hope he can sort out a long term contract with a good club next year.

I wonder whether his family are at home and he is just sending the money back until he gets himself a longer term deal.

Like you say hopefully he gets a longer term deal soon. He must have a great agent, Toulouse wanted him as a WC replacement too.

The Scarlets move never quite worked out and all parties knew the Quins deal was short term but I can understand why he took the short term deal at Racing, it would have been decent money and a chance to put himself in the shop window as he would be playing with a high calibre of player. On one hand it has worked, he has gotten another move albeit short term to a good team (3rd in Top 14 last year and top now probably due to the RWC).

He has probably earned more money in the 2 short term deals than he would full time at a lower ranking team in England or pro14. I know a few quins fans who were impressed with him and thought they hsoudl have kept him.

Agree he really should have had a better career so far, he is hugely talented.

Good luck to him, I hope he goes well and gets a renewal for next season.

Loosehead is a bit of an issue for Scotland for the immediate future, Dell has only started one game for ‘Irish this season and behind him is probably Bhatti and then who?

I think Kebble qualifies next year sometime

Du Preez extends another year at Worcester, been in good form this season much lighter than when he left edinburgh more like the cracking player we first signed that made line breaks and offloads look easy.

Doubt we will see him in a scotland shirt again but glad he recovered from that injury and is back playing well.

If he’s playing well he must be close to needing a new contract.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Wonder if CHH will be staying at Sarries with all that's going on there at the moment?

Very interesting hour long interview with SHC on the 18/01/20 Rugby Dungeon Podcast. Fairly open about his time at Scarlets and the circumstances surrounding his departure from Edinburgh, when he had to ditch his agent at the time due to issues with betting. Well worth a listen.

Well in the context of their pay structures he will be very cheap, and therefore potentially very valuable to them at the moment.

Don't think this is how it's working. Sarries have accepted relegation in order to keep their books closed ( which of course tells it's own story ), and that means they can carry on over the cap this season and fulfil their contractual obligations to players. Next season in the Championship, your point could be very relevant.

However the alternative is given there will be massive player churn at season end, and his current loan contract finishes then ( I assume ), he might well be at the front of the queue to be shown the door as it's a clean break.
