From speaking to a friend at LS, the funding from the RFU is being massively cut next season, so they’re screwed anyway, and would quickly go back down to the National leagues. If they joined the S6 they’d likely leave the Championship, and the funding would broadly replace the RFU funding and give them access to the exiles academy system. Their travel costs would be covered by the SRU.

I think it’s potentially a great idea.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Any idea when the team(s) will be released?
Looks like not today so presumably Sunday-which is odd with media team being on holiday then which had led me to think it might have been today.(I suppose some just has to press a button from home though so perhaps not a big issue.)

These are worse than useless.

And ultimately the Scottish Governments decision was a political one, driven by the desire to one up Boris, rather than a data driven public health decision. We need to stop putting up with this pish.

Agreed, realistically LS is our best shot at a 3rd Pro Team.

Expecting a permanent relocation from them in the near future. Possibly with the Pro team going to one location (Linford Christie stadium?) and the rest of the club going somewhere nearer to current home - similar to LI.

The URC would almost certainly be very keen on the idea of welcoming a London-based team, given there are rugby-loving ex-pats from all of the constituent nations based there and crowds would likely be decent.

From a Scotland point of view it would open up a lot of opportunities to attract promising young English-based Scottish-qualified players (although whether you see that as a good thing or not is another discussion!)

Not sure English based Scottish players would care a huge amount. Money is first concern and Glasgow and Edinburgh are both fantastic cities.

I can see the appeal in a London team for the URC for the away fans... But you also need home fans. You need a league format that makes sense as well. And finally LS would also need a professional rugby stadium: most likely a groundshare which is no gimme.

LS is an easier route to a third pro team but the money, stadium, fan base and league structure issues aren't fixed.

Good luck to him, he's playing really well in a good Tigers side.
I was gutted for him when he was hooked v South Africa, he knew he'd made a mistake in defence and that was, apparently, the thing he'd been told to work on in order to get back into the Scotland set up.

on the subject of FPs and others - There is a post on Embra Fans FB page, an article from a newspaper in which Jamie Ritchie describes Cockers as having a "huge impact" on his career and making him into a regular internationalist.

A 3-year deal is surprisingly long term.

From George Turner's interview with Mark Palmer:

For a long time, such a description applied to the hooker’s own career, his six years at Edinburgh yielding a solitary start and 13 substitute appearances. So far out of the picture was Turner that when a coach called down to the physio room one day and he answered the phone with a “George speaking”, the coach replied: “George who?”
