Standing up on the scrum seems a bit of a mystery to S G-W too, although he is by far the least of our problems. Should be out of sight by now.

Odds on an improvement 2nd half? As has already been said on this thread, it’s hard to generate much enthusiasm for this. The season is just off.

Agree we should hook Pyrgos, instead we will swap the props on 55 mins and take off Bennet for johnstone

Agree, we have been totally dominant and not rewarded.

Bradbury knocking that on would have summed up the game completely

I’ll take the win, but for all we were on top we should have come away having scored more

Well, given that our defence has been rank so far, it’s an improvement

Dominent scrum but please spread it to the backs and let them run at the line.

It's an improvement but what has happened to us since pre lockdown? This team looks a pale imitation. Can't all be Matt Scott!

Positives.....

The scrum
Bennett defence
Hodgson did well
Pack were gnarly
Willemse didn’t make the line out worse

Negatives....

Everything else

Awful game. Edinburgh's scrum dominance nor rewarded, but Glasgow and especially Gray were outstanding in the lineout. Pyrgos wasn't great, but no one in the backs looked that great on attack. Some because they never saw the ball. Bennett was outstanding in defence, which given his performance against Sale was a pleasant surprise.

As an Edinburgh supporter I thought Glasgow got the rub of the green from the ref. Glasgow supporters probably feel the same. But a lot of his decisions were dodgy, especially around the breakdown.

Sloppy from both sides and Edinburgh attack just stuttered . This can’t all be about individuals off their game . Coaching refresh required ! I hope the forwards give them Pelters in the changing room post match too. Rookie Ref looked nervous and was indecisive in management of penalty advantage to Edinburgh’s cost .Wilson was as obvious a binning as there is first half in impeding Pyrgos playing advantage.Good to see Bennet put in good shift in defence with very effective offensive tackles . Perhaps motivated by rivals in opposition and Toonie in the stand.

Unless the coach to be changed is Cockers there's no real point. It's his gameplan.

I think we were far more expansive last year and the year before. It’s possibly a comfort blanket and a trust thing when the pressure is on.

To be fair if the execution had been better and a ref willing to reward our scrum dominance properly then the points in the first half would have come.

It’s a concern that we don’t even seem interested in using the wingers for strike moves off first phase, something which should be relatively easy to coach and work on in training. Jaco can get a back like moving and we have a brilliant back 3. The hands in the centre are not the best but also. It that bad, it looks like lack of confidence, either from coaches or players.

After that win it should free us up a bit to play more rugby.
