SA Trip

That looks like a very strong squad we have in SA,particularly with such as Hodgson,Muncaster and Boyle not even making the 34 players who have travelled out.Still going to be extremely tough especially with the first game on Saturday at altitude in very hot humid conditions.

Agree, I was surprised to see them miss out.

Possibly as the others will then be away for autumn internationals and will likely miss games either side to keep them fresh? So chance to give them a rest and have them fit and firing.

They were arguably the form onwards in the pre season games. Good to see Mcinally back in the squad. Big season for him to try and get to RWC, needs to get past Cherry for edinburgh first though!

Good team, pretty much our strongest. Although I assume Watson is still getting up to speed.

I really like Crosbie, but I do feel a bit for Boyle, I dont think I have seen him have a quiet game and he is more like for like with Watson, although Crosbie gives us other options too in style of play. Him starting along with Pyrgos, suggests we are looking to keep it a bit tighter and open up later in the game.

The other striking thing is that Venter has played so many games for us, given he was injured for a while that's a heavy workload. He has been a very good adition.

Just seen on Twitter that Kinghorn out (stomach bug) and Jaco starting.Great pity particularly after his display last weekend. At least sounds like not an issue for the game next Saturday .

Giving up too many easy metres through pens, got to get on right side of ref asap and support man protect ball better when we have it

Now we have conceded penalties the guys are under scrutiny for more, unlike Bulls who seem to be cleverer at the breakdown?

YC appeared to galvanise us, got to start games better and not get on wrong side of ref. Think lucky not to get second yellow for red zone pens before ht

Yep not a good idea to the opposition a head start before we start to play, not good for bp or heart condition.

Gutting, but you won't find a single Edinburgh fan who wouldn't have taken 2 LBPs from a visit to Pretoria.

Good effort, proud of the fight, pushed a good bulls team very hard. Gutted not to get the win but 2bps away in sa is encouraging.
