To be honest the coaching positions remain the most interesting to most supporters. It will be very interesting to see if the team can rescue the season over the next few games. If we cant finish in the top half of the table then I would expect and hope to see changes. If we dont get into the top half then I can see the budget reflecting this and a few more bigger names moving on over the close season.

Leicester have lost Montoya to the Top 14, but have signed Blamire from Newcastle. Wonder if they think Blamire will be in the England squad so want cover. And Vannes are struggling to stay in the Top 14.
But an end of career payday for a 34 year old is always the right move, if it can be engineered. And there's always the possibility this is his agent press releasing.

Another year where a poorly performing lock milks the cash cow & keeps others out of the 1st XV... He must have a stack of secrets tucked away to keep geting his contract renewed.
That makes my renewal quandry easier...

You have to think the SRU will be trying to get Turner back from Japan. Dare we hope? Cherry did a great job in the 6N's but it was a problem position for us this year and Turner has been badly missed.

We are linked with Dylan Richardson as a cherry replacement.
Good player but does not move log jam with Harrison and Morris, perhaps investing in a throwing coach may be more sensible

Will add Richardson is 26, ashman 24, Harrison 22, morris 23. (Cherry 34)

On another board is a guy who has a mate who is an itinerant specialist throwing coach. Cockerill brought him in to Edinburgh and he worked with us, Glasgow and Scotland as well as with top teams across England and France as well as with Dave Rennie in Japan.
He's still working with Scotland and Glasgow but Edinburgh turned his return down

Richardson has 2 years left on his contract so another potential buyout! That cannot be the best use of our budget given where else we need to invest in the squad.

It does seem very odd, we are well covered at hooker, even if Cherry leaves. Particularly given Galasgow are less wel endowed there. It feels again like we are having players parked with us, similar to Sebastian, Auterac etc.
The. If area we need to invest in is coaching. We have a comparable budget to Glasgow but they have invested in good quality coaches whereas we have promoted inexperienced coaches and brought in Everitt who while more cpericnrd doesn’t exactly have a glittering coaching career behind him.
Sometimes coaches just don’t gel in a role too, if you look at Danny Wilson who just didn’t work at Glasgow was good at Cardiff and has gone onto do a good job at Quins, so it doesn’t always work we just seem to have a run of getting it wrong.

Goosen +2 years has been really good since his injury plagued first season. Not missed a minute of this season! I thought he may have had offers elsewhere but glad he is staying.

Indeed and Scottish Qualified by the end of this contract and before the RWC too. Good bit of business particularly when our other three specialist full backs seem to be struggling with long term injury issues.

Good re-signing, he has arguably been our best player this year, certainly most consistent and played a lot of games.
I guess that confirms Boff isnt staying, which is in a way is sad as he was very very good for us, but unfortunate he just hasnt been able to stay fit. I hope he is fit enough to get a new contract somewhere, its not easy to get one when injured.
im not sure about Wes playing for Scotland, he will be 31 by the time he qualifies and we are quite well stocked, so time will tell, but he certainly wasnt a project player.
