My first line was
"For All,
I have sent letter to CEO SRU re the withdrawl of the facilities the SRU are contracted to supply to ALL Edinburgh Season Ticket Holders."

Yes, I've seen that now. Sorry!

It's not just you.

To be fair, he is the Marketing chappy, so it's not really his job to reply.

I cant believe this is happening. When Nic C was there we talked about developing a club atmosphere in the PS to get both home and away supporters together in the spirit of rugby and to make Edeinburgh a place that other clubs prioritised for away trips to games. This sends out the message that Fortress Murrayfield is not about team performance on the pitch but about repelling inconveniant fans.

I'm so glad I didnt renew my season ticket!!!!

Where is the voice of the players & management. Stand up for the fans who turn out to support you week in week out.

I'd be gratefull if Mssr's Docherty and Calder would specifify when and where they will be available on friday evening. Even though I and my familiy are PST's I cannot guarantee that I can be in the " boxes" before 18:30. My son cannot guarantee to be ther before 1830-40. My wife is abroad at present. The one thing I know is that we are extremely not happy with what is going on.

I will be asking for our PST monies back and we will visit the legal recourse to obtain this as through ER's non fullfillment of the bargain on our season tickets.

The arrogance of the SRU is astounding.

Suggestion:

If everyone is concerned about the lack of accurate information coming from ER re when and where their "Flak-Representatives" will be available on Friday to brush us all off (PSTs, STs et al) with "no comment" comments then perhaps the Edinburgh Rugby Supporters Club, as a voice of the people, should arrange an official meet - not necessarily a match night when people will be rushing around for various reasons so issues will not be raised fairly and comprehensively - for the Supporters and ER so that we can, cohesively and as a large group, discuss with ER the apparent lack of pertinent communication with the supporters.

If this does not happen in an official, and not just a passing 5 mins pre match, capacity then supporters will not get a proper chance to discuss, ER will not get a proper chance to put their case across (!) and everyone will feel forever aggrieved!

I think that is a good idea, but maybe there should be a season ticket holder event, not on match day (but in the imminent future), to discuss the issues with Edinburgh Rugby. i would suggest that SRU attend also, but there is less than no chnace of that happening.

Oldsalt,
You, like me, seem to be getting angrier by the day. I have posted a thread on the topic ‘Am I turning into a Grumpy Old Man’. And it may be a good idea if we started a new topic just for this subject.

The SRU are either arrogant or just plainly stupid. I would not give them the intelligence of being arrogant.

I would fully support Edrugbychick’s suggestion.

As you know I have sent letters to SRU etc and to date know reply.

I would suggest that everyone who feels aggrieved at the situation does likewise. The more complaints they have re their failure to comply with their contractual obligations, the better.

On a related point to Edrugbychick's, perhaps the ERSC committee should write to the SRU - that might carry more weight than anything sent by individual supporters.

I totally agree with course of action as well.

If each individual STH should write in as they would not only be showing their disapproval but also registering their 'claim to refund/compensation' should SRU not reconsider their position.

This situation is not only how they treat the supporters (with contempt), but the product, Season Tickets, have in effect been mis-sold. The consumers, US, have legal protection against companies who do not abide by the law.

Normally I would never recommend anything that is detrimental to ER or the SRU but given the SRU’s arrogance I suggest a boycott of the Rowan suite and all other stadium outlets until the SRU sees sense and opens the Presidents suite to all supporters or gives a satisfactory reason for not doing so. As a ST holder it goes without saying that I will be fully supportive of the team but I will not spend a penny whilst in the ground.

Why? Have they decided to only open the toilets in the south stand?

This is my first year as a season ticket holder. I had attended various games in the past but always shied away from getting a season ticket, knowing that I wouldn't be able to commit to going to every home game due to work commitments.

This year, both myself and my other half decided to support the club and as we thoroughly enjoyed the pre/post match banter & social side in the President's suite, it made sense regardless of the fact that it may have been just as cheap for us to get a bunch of Anygame vouchers.

It's difficult enough to work up an atmosphere for the team in such a large stadium, but now to segregate the fans and reduce the chance to mix with "the opposition", I really can't see why the fans of visiting teams would come to Edinburgh for away games. It's already cold, draughty and empty feeling, but now to take away any warm welcome that may make up for these aspects of travelling to Murrayfield, why would anyone want to come?

I really do feel that the SRU are shooting themselves in the foot. I have dealt with them previously regarding raising the profile of Murrayfield and holding events there but they really don't seem to have a clue about how to run this amazing asset they have.
