Interesting teams, both seem to be as strong as possible, both missing 4/5 starters.

I’m far from convinced we can win, Glasgow are just so well organised and on form. But if we can attack with the intent of recent weeks and tighten up in defence it’s all to play for.

We will need to try and move the Glasgow pack, they are an outstanding mauling team. But they can play in different ways so not sure how best to stop them. Think we just have to play our game and try to outgun them. We need big performance accross the team, a chance to show they are just as good as their lauded counterparts.

Interesting to see how Hampden works out, if a success commercially it would be good if the 'big' game rotated years between it and murrayfield and then had the other match at Hive/Scotstoun...obviously if it is a success it will be all about the £ so won't happen but would like a ER v GW Hive match one day.

Couple of decent squads think our bench is a little stronger, but goes without saying we need another 80min performance like the last outing and more importantly keep 15 on the pitch.

This must be a game that's there for the taking against a 23 with 4 hookers in it - all who are decidedly average. An unfamiliar setting for both sides must work in our favour. It will be my first time in Hampden be interested in how it compares with Murrayfield and other rugby venues.

Hampden will offer slightly better shelter from weather for the match and spectators but that is all . It is a relatively soulless place unless full . The pitch is also at some distance from spectators .
As for the match . I see relative parity in the Forward battle with Edinburgh edging lineout and maul but our biggest challenge will be in the backs where our combinations lack the quality of Glasgow in midfield . Really hoping that Thompson , Mosese and Currie take confidence from their second half show v Bayonne last week and in turn they help create the lines for Darcy and Duhan to destroy Glasgow . Weather may be a leveller that creates random opportunities which both sides are capable of exploiting.

Good to see crowd looks like 30,000 + . Weather might ease up a bit in early afternoon so all set to see Rugby bring a fresh “ roar” to Hampden under the lights !! Looking forward to getting over tomorrow.

Responding to an earlier post I'm bemused with the idea we are missing "4/5 starters" . i agree Glasgow probably are but we are very near full strength surely. Only Paul Hill missing. Not sure you can count Boffelli now given he's been out for so long.Who else? And we have a very strong bench so the 23 is as good as it could be other than the aforesaid Hill and Boffelli.
( Despite that I would still rate Glasgow as fairly strong favourites!)

Brain dead discipline we are handing possession and territory to them.

SteveWalsh 40

Discipline a disgrace.

Glasgow don't need to do anything but wait for us to LawrenceBryce up with either a dumb penalty or an aimless poor kick from 9 or 10 back to Glasgow.

On the plus side it looks like my premier sports feed is down so maybe won't see 2nd half

Absolutely dreadful. On paper Edinburgh were the stronger line up but ( as I fully expected) we were never in it. Shocking skills compared to Glasgow.
As I've said often on these forums Shiel could easily start for Edinburgh, not that it would have made much difference. And Venter playing better than Schoemann (as he often does). But the coaching is clearly woeful!

Where is Matt Scott?
Where is Hamish Watson?

Neither listed as injured, both missing for weeks.

Have they lost confidence in the coaching team, or have the coaching team lost confidence in them?

Surely this is the end of the road for the current regime. That was 33-0 until Glasgow switched off at the very end.

Duhan big extension does sweet f all, Price awful (luckily leaving), Bradbury and Crosbie really poor, Schoeman poor, Gilchrist poor , Ashman poor, Healy benched.

Shocking the lot of them.
